What is the Adelante Con Camp Perry Campaign?

The Adelante Con Camp Perry Campaign is a major gifts and capital campaign to raise dollars to rebuild Camp Perry.


What is Camp Perry?

Camp Perry is a Camp owned and operated by the Rio Grande Council, Boy Scouts of America. It is the oldest continuous operating Boy Scout Camp in Texas! It was acquired in 1927 and this marked its 90th anniversary in 2017!


What is the campaign goal?

The campaign goal is $6.1 million.


What will the dollars be used for?

The dollars will be used to build 18 new facilities, 12 pavilions, 3 refurbished facilities, a new swimming pool, improved infrastructure, seed monies for a full-time ranger, facility endowment, and a campership endowment.


What are the major facilities that will be built?

Our signature facility will be an air-conditioned dining hall. It will be 9,500 sq. ft. and feature large porches overlooking the Arroyo Colorado. In addition, a 6,000-sq. ft. Health and Fitness facility will be built, a new swimming pool, plus much more!


What activities can youth experience when attending Camp Perry?

Some of the activities will include, swimming, canoeing, rock climbing, hiking, and many other activities.


How many youth will use Camp Perry?

We expect the annual usage will be over 15,000 youth per year once all facilities are built.


Do you have to be a Scout to use Camp Perry?

No. We expect that about 1/3 of all participants will be outside groups like Boys and Girls Clubs, Church groups, school groups, and other non-profits.


How much does it cost to attend camp?

There are many factors that determine costs, such as meals, length of stay, etc.

The cost for a Boy Scout to attend camp for a full week is $220.00.


Is there financial assistance for a youth to attend camp?

Our hope is to raise $100,000 to help youth attend camp.
